Open Letter to the Organizers of COP30 – The COP of the Forest
To the Secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)
To Ambassador Dr. Andre Correa do Lago, M.D., President of COP30 in Brazil.
To World Leaders, Local Governments and Global Civil Society,
Humanity is living a decisive moment. After two editions of the Conference of the Parties, COPS, 28 and 29, marked by the leadership of oil producers, COP30, to be held in Brazil in November, in the Amazon, has the potential to become a historic milestone by establishing itself as the COP of the Forest.
Inspired by this unique moment, ecologist José Pedro Naisser, Creator of the Platform in the Fight for the Regeneration of Planet Earth,Using Education for Peace, Sports, Health, Technology and Sustainability as pillars for this great challenge.
Jose Pedro and Member of Dr. Al Gore's Team in the fight against Global Warming, Member of Lord Nicholas Stern's Team in the Fight against Climate Change, and Volunteer on Commander Jacques Cousteau's Team during Eco92, also has the support of the great Director James Cameron, who for the sake of Planet Earth and the Environment, we must raise our heads and raise our voices in its defense.

Dear Mr. Naisser,
Thank you for the kind words about me in your article below. I have accepted the challenge to try to raise consciousness around the world about this great crisis which is upon us. Most people are not listening, but we must raise our voices. I am still trying to decide the best ways for me to be effective in this fight (aside from making more Avatar movies, which I am now starting to do).
Perhaps we will find a way to work together.

With over 40 years of dedication to his cause, now with the construction of his Platform that can be coupled with large companies, governments, streaming, book editions, handouts in all Schools, Universities, Communities of the World, including UNESCO in Paris, proposes that COP30 be the starting point for an unprecedented global action.
We know today that cities, which occupy only 2% of the Earth's surface, are home to 65% of the world's population and are responsible for more than 70% of global greenhouse gas emissions. However, they have the power to become living solutions to climate change.
The proposal is clear:
Promote massive urban reforestation, creating green corridors and living areas in cities;
Involve children, young people and communities in planting trees, with educational support based on our platform;
Value and learn from indigenous peoples and traditional communities, ancient guardians of biodiversity and the forest;
Establish an alliance between education, the environment and public health, forming conscious citizens and agents of change.
This is a global call. Planet Earth asks us for help, the forest calls, education responds, Nature and Life thank you.
Let us send this challenge to His Holiness Pope Leo XIV, to continue Pope Francis' Encyclical, Laudato Si, and to use the legacy of the great statesman Nelson Mandela, who said that the most powerful weapon we have to save the world is Education.
We count on the support of everyone — nations, institutions, companies, educators and citizens — to make COP30 the beginning of a new era: where cities and forests walk together for planetary sustainability.
With hope and commitment, let's now look for people who truly want a better world, the world needs protagonists, you can help a lot, through the environmental services you receive from Planet Earth, such as water, energy, oxygen, food and habitat, help us, the time has come.
